Job Overview

Our client a production company specializing in high-end digital display advertising in Cape Town is seeking for a German speaking Sales Director to build up and lead a team of Sales Managers and Telesales Agents. The position requires someone to strategically manage the relationships between the agency’s European customers and the corresponding departments within Sales and Production based in Cape Town. Besides maintaining existing relationships, this role should identify opportunities to develop, grow and establish new opportunities and business contacts. The role reports into the Founder of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales division and project teams
  • Translate the overall sales strategy into section targets and deliverables
  • Develop business opportunities and implement operational sales strategies alongside the Executive Management Team
  • Negotiate & review product pricing and margin analysis
  • Strategically manage relations with key customers, regions and relevant business units
  • Establish and maintain sound relationships with key business stakeholders
  • Analyse market trends & developments and transfer into recommendations
  • Provide regular reports, sales forecasts and both internal as well as customer correspondence and feedback to ensure consistent communication

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Minimum BCom degree or similar
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a leading sales role of driving a sales team to achieve targets – or in a consultancy firm
  • Native German speaker and fluent in English with excellent oral and written skills in both languages
  • Preferably experience within B2B sales
  • A proven track record of hitting set targets/KPI
  • Established agency/customer network (banks, insurances, FMCG, (online-)retail, media companies, large ad agencies) in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Nordic countries is a bonus

  • Able to travel to Europe about 25% of the time / 4-8 times per year
